gymbuddy
An iPhone app for sharing workouts with friends. Coming soon to the App Store.
I made gymbuddy because I wanted my friends and I to be able to track when we're headed to the gym, going for a run, or finishing a class, and to share it and keep each other accountable. It's a small, invite-only app where you log what you did and the people you're already friends with see it. That's it.
What you can do
Tap the plus button, pick what kind of workout it was. Running, lifting, yoga, climbing, a class, whatever. Optionally add a photo, a duration, a caption, or tag where you were. Your friends get a small notification and your post shows up in their feed and on a map.
You can react to a friend's post (Hyped, On my way, Cheers), see your active-day streak, and check basic stats on how often you're showing up. There's no follower count, no algorithm, no public profile.
Who can see your stuff
Only the people you've added as friends. Not strangers, not Apple, not me. You sign in with Apple, so I never see your password or even your real email if you don't want me to. You can hide yourself from search, turn off location per post, or delete your account whenever you want. Everything goes away within 30 days.
If something goes wrong
You can report any post or block any user from the ⋯ menu on a workout. I read every report. There's also a Report a Bug and Suggest a Feature form in Settings, and those go straight to me.
The boring details
Free, no in-app purchases, no ads. iPhone only, iOS 17 and up. The backend runs on Google Firebase. We don't use third-party analytics or tracking SDKs. You need to be at least 13 to use it.
